I, like many others look forward to the first Sunday of the new year when the Winter League, big bore and small bore starts. This year from January 3rd through March 21st with awards presentation day on April 11th usually at the VFW Hall next door.
Deb's Gun Range is located in Hammond, Indiana. Deb is a certified NRA instructor and one of the finest people to know. Safety is first and foremost at Debs or you'll learn her words (my rules or the highway). There are shooters as young as eleven (must be with a parent) and as old as dirt. Every week you'll need a total of 48 rounds with a possible top score of 480. Every other week the shooting positions change and all shooting is timed. We shoot strong hand, weak hand, around barricades, standing, kneeling, and sitting. Deb puts every ones name in a hat, pulls 3 names at a time to make teams. I've shot with young shooters, ladies and old guys. Its just a lot of fun and you'll meet great people.
This year one of the instructors, Chet, has his daughter and son shooting. All young shooters always shoot with a two hand hold.
There is always coffee, snacks and a TV for you football fans up in the training room. We see new people every year, so if you are a new shooter, first timer, or old timer you'll have fun and shoot better in Debs Winter League.
